General objective

Develop new knowledge and strategies through biotechnology to improve plant tolerance to the negative effects of climate change (abiotic stress), helping to promote sustainable agriculture and its dissemination in the community.

Specific objectives

Select master genes to develop new kiwifruit and tomato rootstocks -using the CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technique- resistant to abiotic stress.

Study and develop biomodulators to protect tomatoes from abiotic stress.

Raise awareness, inform and motivate the community about relevant aspects of climate change and the relevance of working for sustainable agriculture; announcing the progress of the project and the leading role that science plays in this regard.
